Endodontics (Root canal treatments)

Endodontics

Endodontics is the area of dentistry specialising in the health of the pulp and roots of your tooth. The goal of endodontics is to save your natural tooth, primarily in the form of a root canal. Root canals are a safe way to address an infected tooth, and to prevent future re infection. During a root canal, the infected pulp (blood and nerve supply to the tooth) is carefully and meticulously removed. The inside of the tooth is then disinfected and cleaned before being filled and sealed.

Signs you May Need a Root Canal:

  • Pimples on the gums
  • Strong sensitivity to hot or cold
  • Swollen or tender gums
  • Severe pain while chewing or biting
  • Significant decay or darkening of the gums or tooth

This treatment is available at our Emerald, Middlemount and Dysart clinics.
