Crown and Bridge Work
For patients seeking to restore the appearance and function of their teeth, a dental crown or bridge may be an appropriate solution.
Crowns are a prosthetic “cap” that can be made from a number of materials including resin, porcelain, and ceramics. They are placed over the existing tooth, effectively replacing the portion of the tooth that is damaged, restoring both aesthetics and function. These “caps” are uniquely created to match the size, shape and colour of your original teeth, or to create a new smile altogether!
Bridges, by contrast, are designed to “bridge” any gaps you may have in your mouth due to missing or broken teeth. In this way, they can effectively replace one or more missing teeth. Each bridge is comprised of two or more abutment crowns and one or more prosthetic teeth called a “pontic”. Together, these elements form one solid prosthetic piece that fits precisely into the place where the tooth (or teeth) are missing.
At Serenity Dental we have invested in technology that not only means we make our own crowns and bridges, but in most cases allows us to provide you the finished product in the same appointment! To learn more Click Here!
